That is...that is just fantastic.

That was amazing.

I have absolutely no critcisms to make about this.

The ending is just so nostalgic for me that I can barely describe it.

Good fucking job, man.

Define "Symbolism"

At Dictionary, the word symbolism is defined as:

"The practice of representing things by means of symbols or of attributing symbolic meanings or significance to objects, events, or relationships."

What we have here is a lack in creative style and symbolism to make way for a simple reinventing of the song. While, for a first attempt, you manage to make fairly crisp animation with some artwork which was good (but had room for improvement) you failed to symbolize anything that wasn't already stated in the song itself.

There's nothing particularly wrong with that but it does bring down the overall quality of the video. Perhaps for the Holiday one, be a little more metaphorical. Use more analogies as opposed to similes.

Bear in mind that American Idiot, as a whole album, is a story, not just another typical Green Day album. Maybe you can utilize that fact in the next video you do.

And if you should manage out a video for Jesus of Suburbia I implore you to take the story idea into consideration. I promise that if you make another video like THIS one to Jesus of Suburbia, it WILL be a waste of time.

All in all, not a terrible video. Lots of room for creativity, that needs to be filled though. Really think about what the song means to you, next time, than make a video based on that. Not just what the song says.

Changing the subject back to the movie...

This was well done, and is probabely your best as far as I've seen.

The song fit with what was happening and the graphics were greatly improved from some of your others.

I think your biggest flaw was, again, the sound quality wasn't that great. It sounded kind of grainy like it was recorded live. But regardless, it's a great song, and it went well with this animation.

Bravo.

Have a nice day.

Doesn't seem to get the point across...

While I do believe you tried hard to create this, and you did have good intentions, I find that this particular piece didn't end up getting any real point across.

It told a story as opposed to making a point.

The graphics were not all that great in my opinion, as well, the sound quality was very poor and, honestly, I don't think Chop Suey fits this particular piece very well.

It didn't seem to go very quite with what was happening except at the part where you had, I'm assuming, angels dying and falling into hell.

Which brings up another thing I didn't find very good about this: There were a few scenes that throughout the clip just kind of repeated themselves over and over, kind of taking away from the story, in my opinion.

While I myself couldn't do anything of this calibur with Flash (I suck at it, simply put) I don't think I'd go for something like this anyway, as I try not to get points like this across.

Not unless I feel there's no other way to get that certain point across.

So, for me, this didn't strike me as amazing, nor very meaningful. But it was none the less, not all bad entirely, so don't let me drag ya down.

Have a nice day.

Very nicely done.

A very well put together flash animation.

A very well made one all together.

My only real complaints were that the graphics felt like they were kind of lacking and the quality of the song wasn't all that good.

Regardless, it worked well with what happened in the background and it flowed easily.

The story was definately original even if it was inspired by the Romeo and Juliet story.

Keep up the good work.

It's alright.

It's alright. Nothing too new or interesting as the voting thing says.

The graphics were definately good, as well as the sound.

But the whole point just didn't seem like anything special or new to me. Nothing original.

So for the graphics and sound quality I applaud you, but work on some things. Mainly the way they turn their heads. It seemed to be REAL jerky when ever they turned their heads or did something that involved facing a new direction.

While I know that is not the easiest thing to do, it would've made it a very near perfect animation.

Oh well.

Again, not bad. Just not something that caught me as interesting.

Good but not one of your best, I say

I personally didn't find this very entertaining, action wise. While it did get the point across and it did do smoothly, it wasn't a very thrilling idea in my opinion.

Funny as hell though.

I mean what's not funny about some random guy with red, spikey hair duking it out with Vampire Robots? I rest my case.

I'd say comparabely (Yeah, my spelling sucks today, I think) you're other flashes were better (ofcourse this wasn't really intended to be great, or so it seems but meh.)

But fuck, what am I talking about. I couldn't make a flash thing to save my life, so. (shrugs) Bah.

Anyway, it's not bad, but it could've been better.

And though I don't think you really care either way, I can't help but comment about the replies you give people. =P

"wow!"

"woo!"

Now all we need is, "Wee" and we'll have Ling from Kung Pow. =P

"Wee-oo, wee-oo"

...Uhhhnnn...yeah. Keep up the good work.

Peace.

You're absolutely right in all regards. Thanks for noticing.

And just for you: wee!

Okay.,

I like how you made this. And I like how it came out.

I'm not too fond of the music going on. But there's talent.

Mostly the sound was what got me to bring this down. The music video is definately a work of art. And I do applaud you for the fact that you...actually went in and drew each frame, like you did.

But the song kind of lacked something.

Oh well. We all have out opinions.

Anyway, keep up the good work.

Revolutionary, to say the least.

This was very well done, I say.

It's probabely the longest flash thing I've ever seen, and probabely will ever see on this site. This is a good thing as it shows talent and the ability to make something long and keep it as interesting as it was.

I've always enjoyed Greek Mythology and the stories that were involved. It was really nice to see this, because until I did, I'd never heard of this particular story.

For that, I applaud you. Plus it showed the great animating skills that most of your flash's contain, so you know it has to be good.

And ofcourse the music was awesome. There were a couple parts where the sound was kind of grainy, or didn't work too well, but it's not that big of a deal.

Anyway, I really enjoyed this. A masterpiece if I may say so.

Have a nice day, and keep up the good work.

rvyn responds:

Thanks a lot for the review! It's a little trimmed from the final script by about a minute or so just because i didn't have enough time to work it out. anyway, i hope you stick around for the next project!

Hmmmm

Considering this is your first piece, it's not as bad as some.

Anyway, nice try for a first attempt. It led to larger places obviously.

Music is one of the few things I really like anymore. But I'm willing to see other things. If you'd like, check out anything I have up. I like feedback, good and/or bad. But meh.
